The Stars and Stripes Forever
John Philip Sousa arranged for two pianos, four hands by Reginald Haché

Cat.#10126
$10.00
The arranger makes use of cascading arpeggios, brilliant blocked and broken octave sections, and trill work to make this an exciting closer for any ensemble concert. A score and the parts are included. • Advanced

• A great concert closer

• Duration 3½ minutes.
Implosions
for two pianos, four hands
Simon Sargon

Cat.#10110
$18.00
Sargon has written an intense three-movement work which thoroughly depicts its title. It was written for pianist and composer David Karp. The movements are fast, slow, fast. The first movement is an exciting rhythmic diaplay with many meter changes. Movement 2 has large, lush chords in Piano 2, while Piano does an articulated series of broken thirds. The middle section becomes more lyrical. The third movemenet puts punctuated chords against scale patterns in intense rhythmic patterns. The harmony can be described as extended tonality. Many parts are hauntingly beautiful. This is an excellent choice for a university two-piano concert. • Both parts included

• A great choice for university performances

• Duration 18 minutes.
Sonata for Two Pianos, Four Hands in F Major K. 497
Wolfgang A. Mozart
based on the arrangement by Carl Reinecke
re-edited by Elizabeth Manduca

Cat.#10117
$25.00 for both parts
The Sonata in F major for piano duet was written in 1786. Mozart often played four hand literature with his sister, Nannerl. There were occasions where they were called upon to perform this type of literature. This work is a substantial sonata with an Adagio introduction and frequent use of contrapuntal textures instead of the more often used homophonic accompaniments. This arrangement for two pianos, four hands is loosely based on a turn of the century version arranged by Carl Reinecke for C. F. Peters, Leipzig. It was typical during this time for arrangers like Reinecke to double melody parts, fill in chords, add low bass notes, dynamic and articulation markings, and expressive indications. Many of these markings have been removed and some of the parts redistributed to make the work more like Mozart and less like a romanticized replica. Some of the additions to chords were necessary for the resolutions of various lines, but these were kept subtle. The third movement presents some technical difficulty which is eased somewhat by having the two pianos. • Advanced

• Two full scores included

Clear Sailing for Two Pianos, Four Hands
Mark Manduca

Cat.#10007
$5.00
This two-piano, four hand work in a jazz-rock style is a rhythmic challenge. It includes a lot of syncopation. One plays a driving, rhythmic chord progression while the other player plays a melody often in octaves, and they switch throughout the piece. This work is a real "student saver." Students could easily add percussion for a great deal of fun! • Intermediate

• Score form only

• Two copies needed for performance.

Shanghai Mabel: A Chinese One Step
Arthur Frackenpohl

Cat.#10058
$8.00
This fast and fun march is full of shifted accents, interesting harmonies, and rapidly changing articulations. It is an excellent opener and/or closer for a concert, and is even more jovial with the third piano part. • Late intermediate

• Optional third piano part

• Score and parts included

• Duration 2 minutes.

Concerto for Our Time
Two Pianos, Four Hands

Seymour Bernstein

Cat.#10108
$18.00
This is a reprint of the 1973 Schroeder & Gunther, Inc. edition. Bernstein says, " Our Time is a strange mixture of the tragic and the absurd, and a whole range of moods and feelings in the way we react to the world around us. We are serious and dedicated, yet capable of wonderful comedy and buffoonery of the most blatant sort. The concerto reflects these traits." The three movements are entitled Gathering, Lament for Vietnam and Jubilation. • A late ntermediate good student concerto

• Both parts included

• Duration 11 minutes.
