These very special editions highlight the lives and music of young composers and artists who are
between the ages of six and eighteen. We have developed this series of music by young people to
help them become recognized and to support their efforts as composers. We hope that supported in
this way, these young composers will continue to write successfully as adults. We also want to show
the general public just how wonderfully creative children can be, and to impress upon them the
importance of the arts in our society. Some of these works and the new works being produced have
appeared in Clavier's Piano Explorer magazine, have been winners or entries in various composition
contests, have been commissioned by youth orchestras, and have been heard over National Public
Radio. Each book has a cover designed by a young artist. Art contests are held in schools. The
children can submit hand drawn or computer generated art and the winning design is placed on the
cover. Composers can submit their own art work with their musical submission. Portions of the
profits from this series go to composition scholarships for young composers.
