SIX OR MORE TRUMPETS

Title Description Features
Suite for Seven Undependable Trumpet Players
Don Stratton

Cat.#30135
$15.00
This is a theatre piece in which the 7 B-flat trumpeters gradually peel off to assume roles seemingly unrelated to music. As they take up these role activities (phone calls, carpentry, conversation with audience, pinball, reading, etc.), sounds are produced that take over the piece and inject it with a new attitude. The piece ends suddenly, leaving a feeling of horror after what had been a rather pleasant and amusing experience. • Intermediate

Badinage for Trumpet Sextet
(NYSSMA list)
Richard Cioffari

Cat.#30178
$12.00
Richard Cioffari is Chair and Professor of Performance Studies at Bowling Green State University and wrote this piece for the BGSU Graduate Trumpet Ensemble. Badinage has been performed at ITG Conferences at Albuquerque and College Park. It is a fanfare-like work featuring a spritely giocoso and a rousing triple-tongued finish. • Late intermediate

• NYSSMSA list

• Highly recommended.

Concerto for Seven Trumpets and Timpani
David Baldwin

Cat.#30700
$18.00
This Concerto is intended to be a companion piece to the famous Johann Altenburg work of the same name published in 1795. The first movement is a combination and expansion of four Sonatas by Hendrick Lubeck (16th-17th century), the second movement contains romantic lines and dramatic gestures and the finale is a light-hearted perpetual motion piece. • Late intermediate

• Fun for the players and audience.

Rejoice, Ye Pure in Heart
for 6 trumpets and organ
(NYSSMA list)

arr. Phil Collins

Cat.#30602
$10.00
A popular work for six trumpets and organ or piano. Cues are provided so that Rejoice can also be performed by only three trumpets and keyboard. Arranged by Phil Collins, a former principal trumpet of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. Highest note is "A " above the staff. "...In this writer's opinion, most any excuse would justify pulling Collins' arrangement off the shelf to be enjoyed by brass players and congregation alike. " (ITG JOURNAL) • NYSSMA list

• Late intermediate.
