Dream Street
Bob McHugh

Cat.#10084

Marked slow and dream-like, this is a jazz ballad full of lush 7th, 9th, 11th and 13th chords and fills. The composer writes, "Dream Street is a jazz ballad to be played in a dreamy style, making the melody sing like a tenor saxophone. It can be played as written, or as a vehicle for improvisation. If you choose to improvise, I have included the chord symbols. The melody should be stated before the improvisation, and played again at the end, going to the coda as a closing statement." • Late intermediate

• Good choice for high school students and adults

Three Scats
Etudes in Jazz

Jack and Jill Get Hip
Jon Grier

Cat.#10134
$3.00
This very humorous piece takes the nursery rhyme tune through some interesting permutations! Some parts are quartal and quintal chords with a very syncopated tune. In other parts, there is a walking, sometimes chromatic bass line, with a punctuated melody in the right hand. The articulation and style work is challenging for an intermediate student. Good choice for adults as well. • Intermediate

• A good example of a jazzy variation on a nursery rhyme tune

• Duration 3½ minutes.
