A Time For ....
Steven Winteregg

Cat.#30002
$5.00
|
Written in honor of Robert Leblanc's 25 years of tuba teaching at Ohio State
University, A Time For... is two short movements for unaccompanied tuba and was inspired by the famous "a
time for" passage in the third chapter of Ecclesiastes. The first movement is free-flowing and lyrical while
the second movement is dance-like and rhythmic. Excellent piece for college and professional players but also
appropriate for good high school tubists.

William Lawes (1602 - 1649) composed a wide variety of dramatic and instrumental
music. These five pieces are a good introduction to the viol music of the 17th century. They are short and
not too taxing, and each is distinctive in style and rhythm.

Night Skies
Steven Winteregg

Cat.# 30022
$8.00
|
This engaging work for solo euphonium has three movements: Mysterious Planets, Shooting Stars,
and Wormholes. The music is reflective of the movement titles. The first movement is in
4/4, slower introduction and then a faster section. Shooting Stars is a wonderful articulation
study with muted staccato notes throughout. It translates in sound the image of shooting stars.
Wormholes is technically challenging with fast tempos and fast rhythm values, quick changing
articulations, trills, a short motivic bursts. This advanced work would be a great choice for
college recitals.
|
Advanced, although a good high school player could do mvts. 1 and 2
Great choice for college recitals.
