What's New
Fireside Tango for Trombone and Piano,
by Steven Winteregg evokes the sound of an Argentine tango by using characteristic rhythms, harmonies and melodic figures.
This movement comes from a three movement work called Danzas for trombone, piano, double bass, and 2 percussionists.
The work was written for Timothy Anderson, Assistant Professor of Trombone at the University of Cincinnati. This work would
be appropriate for both classical recitals and popular concerts.
FIVE FOR FIVE, a new brass quintet by Richard Cioffari.
Richard Cioffari, composer, pianist, double bassist, conductor and educator, holds degrees from The
University of Michigan, and is Professor Emeritus at Bowling Green State University. Five for Five
is a 12 minute work easily accessible to ensembles of intermediate ability as well as college/professionals.
The "cyclical" part of the title refers to the five movements being linked by a motive commencing with a
rising fourth whose transformation throughout the work is easily followed. The movements are titled as
contrasting moods, except for the last one, A la Samba, an exuberant, toe-tapping dance.
Three Etudes for piano solo by Seymour Bernstein (National Federation List).
A beautiful new work for solo piano, the first etude is called Interlocking Passages; the second is an
excellent left hand study, and the third is an octave study.
Divertimento for Flute, Horn and Double Bass by Steven Winteregg.
This 5 movement late intermediate work explores the various sounds between the 3 disparate instruments
by utilizing alternative playing techniques.
